Home International cooperation projects UNDP
In December 2021, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and UNDP established a Partnership for effective solutions in the field of development cooperation with a focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the period 2022-2024.
This is the fifth such partnership, and it builds on previous cooperation with UNDP (since 2003) and focuses on the effective engagement of Slovak private sector in development cooperation, in particular in the Western Balkans and the EU's Eastern Partnership countries, as well as supporting security sector reform in the Western Balkans.
SAIDC cooperates with UNDP and MFEA SR on the development of two other tools to support the private sector engagement in development cooperation - Rozvojmajstri and the UNDP Slovak Challenge Fund.
It represents support for the involvement of the Slovak business sector in sustainable development in selected partner countries of the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership.
The Slovak Challenge fund is intended for Slovak small and medium-sized enterprises and supports projects that represent innovative Slovak business intentions (which can be used across sectors and regions), sustainable use of natural resources, innovations in the field of agriculture, electronic governance. The sources of financing are the Grant Scheme of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the funds of development cooperation of the Slovak Republic through the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.
SAMRS regularly communicated and cooperated with UNDP, MFEA SR, MFSR and the consulting company Aspiro, who implemented the Rozvojmajstri project. In 2020, we addressed the expansion of the database of entrepreneurs and the adjustment of the portfolio of companies in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We also linked with the Rozvojmajstri team several companies that were interested in development cooperation and offered their solutions in the context of the ongoing pandemic.
The database was regularly updated, and serves Slovak companies that are interested and have the potential to engage in development cooperation through participation in international tenders of development institutions and the EU
