Improvement of the functioning of local democracy and transoarency in Kosovo *

Description

The project aims to improve the functioning of local democracy in Kosovo through importing the Slovak experience of city hall transparency and civic engagement on the municipal level.  Transparency International Slovakia (TIS) will measure and inspire the openness of Kosovar cities with two annual transparency rankings and widely disseminate its results, targeting 20% increase in scores in 2-year span. TIS will also bring Slovak experts to Pristina to a three-day seminar for 50 politicians and local activists in series of lectures and interactive discussions on how to improve the work of local governments, including on climate change issues. Finally, four most-promising Kosovar mayors and activists will take part in local government workshop in Slovakia towards the end of the project. In all activities is aplied focus on gender parity of all lecturers and participants.
