Building an inclusive environment for children

The main goal of the project is to build local infrastructure capacity, renovate and equip a separate therapeutic room in a kindergarten in the city of Martvili, which would be accessible to children and parents from a wide area, as well as to transfer experience and good practice in the field of inclusion to Georgia through the training of 10 "multipliers" (experts with an influence on the local professional community - experienced psychologists, trainers and educators from the surrounding municipalities in the Samegrelo region) and subsequently through them to train staff in the surrounding kindergartens and centers. The Research Institute of Child Psychology and Pathopsychology (RICPP) identified the main problems of the target groups in the presented project, which are mainly insufficient access to qualified care, with an emphasis on children with special needs, insufficient equipment of kindergartens, insufficient information of the parents of these children and also insufficient professionalism in access to children with special needs. RICPP plans to renovate and equip a space specifically for these children and thereby improve social services for affected families in the target region.
