The project "Providing material assistance to people affected by the conflict in Ukraine to meet their basic necessities" aims to improve the quality of life of vulnerable groups, especially internally displaced persons in Trancarpathia and Ivano-Frankivsk, affected by the military conflict in Ukraine, through humanitarian aid. The project will focus mainly on the regular provision of material assistance, in particular food, in order to cover the basic  living needs of the above target group. At the same time, the project will strengthen the functioning of the local governance units in which the internally displaced persons have so far been accommodated and which have been fundamentally affected by the unexpected crisis and, within their capacities, are not able to fully cover the needs of the displaced persons. Increased demands and a sharp increase in the population also affected the hosting population, which is also economically affected by the ongoing conflict. Strengthening material assistance can thus help to eliminate the increased demands on local governments and contribute to the better coexistence of people. The project will increase the capacity of local governance units, which will be able to focus on long-term and sustainable humanitarian aid planning and integration of the internally displaced population into the local community.
