Humanitarian aid for Ukraine: Slovak Boženas 4+ will help to demine Kherson region

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Juraj Blanár approved the financial contribution valued at EUR 750 thousand for the purchase of two Božena 4+ demining systems designed for humanitarian demining in Ukraine. The agreement on providing the financial contribution to purchase the systems was signed by the director of the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation Tomáš Bokor and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovakia Myroslav Kastran on Friday, 8 December.

Currently, Ukraine is the most heavily mined country in the world, which represents a great danger for the civil population, preventing them from returning to liberated territories and significantly damaging the economy of the country.  I believe that our Boženas, the product of Slovak industry, will contribute to demining the territory of our neighbor and will, at least partially, make the life of civilians easier,” stated Minister Blanár.

According to the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Rastislav Chovanec, who attended the contract signing, Slovakia is resolved to continue providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, with “demining being an important part, especially, due to Slovakia´s expertise and the high-quality demining technologies of our production.”
