On 1 October 2026, the EU4IM project, in cooperation with the OECD and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, organized a workshop in Belgrade dedicated to strengthening Serbia's e-commerce logistics ecosystem. The event brought together representatives of government institutions, regulatory bodies, postal and courier operators, e-commerce businesses, logistics providers, financial institutions and international organizations.
The workshop explored how efficient logistics, trade facilitation and digitalization can support the continued growth of e-commerce and improve the competitiveness of Serbian companies in regional and international markets. OECD experts presented international experiences and discussed trends related to customs modernization, digital trade, interoperability of systems, artificial intelligence and the growing importance of efficient parcel delivery networks.
Participants highlighted that successful e-commerce depends not only on digital platforms and payment solutions, but also on a well-functioning logistics ecosystem connecting customs authorities, postal and courier services, online marketplaces and consumers. Discussions also covered challenges related to cross-border deliveries, returns management and the fight against illicit trade.
The workshop, organized under the EU4IM project, provided a valuable platform for policy dialogue and exchange of practical experience among stakeholders shaping the future of digital trade in Serbia. The strong participation from both the public and private sectors demonstrated the growing recognition of logistics as a key enabler of e-commerce development and integration into the European Single Market.
