Home News Slovakia Strengthens Healthcare Capacity in Ukraine
In 2025, within the framework of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) of the Slovak Republic, the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation (SAIDC) implemented the development instrument “Public procurement” pursuant to Act No. 392/2015 Coll. on Development Cooperation. This instrument was used for the first time during the given period.
Based on a request from the Ukrainian side, delivered through the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Kyiv, the procurement and delivery of specialised medical equipment was ensured in order to strengthen the diagnostic and treatment capacities of healthcare facilities.
Delivered Equipment
Within the project, three medical devices were delivered:
The mobile digital X-ray unit was delivered to Kyiv for the National M. M. Amosov Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.
The digital mammography system and the dental unit were delivered to a healthcare facility in Vinnytsia.
Purpose and Use
The delivered equipment is used to provide healthcare services to patients and contributes to improving access to diagnostics and treatment, including for persons affected by the armed conflict.
The mobile digital X-ray unit enables fast and safe radiological diagnostics directly within the healthcare facility, including in urgent cases, thereby reducing examination time and increasing diagnostic availability.
The digital screening mammography system with tomosynthesis supports early detection of breast diseases and contributes to enhancing the quality of preventive and specialised healthcare services.
The dental unit with intraoral digital X-ray enables comprehensive dental diagnostics and treatment, including more precise planning of procedures based on imaging results.
