SlovakAid to support new projects by Slovak companies in partner countries

The SlovakAid Private sector engagement Program provides opportunities for the Slovak private sector to engage in development cooperation. It connects the expertise, technologies and innovative solutions of Slovak businesses with the specific needs of partner countries, while supporting the establishment of long-term business and professional partnerships.

Between 2023 and 2025, the Slovak Republic supported 22  projects with a total value of nearly EUR 3 million. The projects were implemented in SlovakAid partner countries and focused primarily on water management, agriculture and food production, energy, innovation, digital solutions and the development of local markets.

An important element of the programme is combining development impact with Slovak know-how. The supported projects provide solutions that address the specific needs of local communities and business environments – from introducing more sustainable agricultural practices and improving the efficient use of natural resources to modern energy and technological solutions.

At the same time, the programme enables Slovak companies to test their solutions in the conditions of partner countries, establish cooperation with local partners and lay the groundwork for continued cooperation beyond the period of project support.

The programme continues in 2026

Efforts to connect development cooperation with the Slovak private sector continue in 2026. In August, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Juraj Blanár approved grants for 11 projects submitted under the Private sector engagement Program call of the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation (SAIDC) – call SAMRS/2026/PPP/1.

The approved projects, with a total value of more than EUR 1.4 million, will support activities in ten SlovakAid partner countries. Their implementation will begin once the grant agreement process has been completed.

The Private sector engagement Program thus continues to connect Slovakia’s development priorities with the expertise and capacities of the Slovak private sector, supporting solutions with the potential to deliver long-term development and economic benefits.
