Home Projects Global development education for journalists and the public
The main goal of the project is to raise public awareness of global and development education (GDE) topics by increasing the quality and quantity of education of (future) journalists and accompanying non-formal education activities. Specific objectives include developing GDE topics in the education of future journalists at 2 universities (UKF Nitra and UK Bratislava) through 2 subjects and 8 workshops, as well as creating 1 sophisticated academic online course. As part of the project, the applicant will continue the non-formal education of journalists in 2 newsrooms (Digital Media Campus and Hospodárske noviny), through workshops and a series of 5 more exclusive webinars. Finally, the project also focuses on raising public awareness of development cooperation and GDE topics through the popularization (MOOC) online course Global Challenges, 15 videos, more than 200 articles in HN Global, 12 podcasts and 2 discussions at the festival. The project is a continuation and innovation of the World between the Lines initiative aimed at systematically educating journalists and promoting public awareness of GDE topics.
