The support focuses primarily on financing feasibility studies, risk assessments, and the preparation of financial and investment structures.<\/p><p data-start=\"746\" data-end=\"925\">This is the first instrument under which EU grant funding will be made directly available to private companies from EU Member States through an open competitive selection process.<\/p><p data-start=\"927\" data-end=\"1123\">The mechanism will provide support amounting to approximately <strong data-start=\"989\" data-end=\"1013\">EUR 0.5 to 2 million<\/strong>, to be distributed across around <strong data-start=\"1047\" data-end=\"1074\">20 to 30 smaller grants<\/strong> intended for the preparatory phases of projects.<\/p><p data-start=\"1125\" data-end=\"1183\">Projects from the following key sectors will be supported:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1306\"><li data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1198\"><p data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1198\">Transport<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1199\" data-end=\"1209\"><p data-start=\"1201\" data-end=\"1209\">Energy<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1210\" data-end=\"1256\"><p data-start=\"1212\" data-end=\"1256\">Digitalisation and artificial intelligence<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1257\" data-end=\"1306\"><p data-start=\"1259\" data-end=\"1306\">Sustainable urban and territorial development<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1308\" data-end=\"1621\">Supported projects must be aligned with the objectives of the Global Gateway initiative and should have the potential for follow-up financing, for example from the <strong data-start=\"1472\" data-end=\"1530\">European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus (EFSD+)<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"1536\" data-end=\"1564\">European Investment Bank<\/strong>, development finance institutions, or private investors.<\/p><p data-start=\"1623\" data-end=\"1710\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The deadline for submitting applications is <strong data-start=\"1667\" data-end=\"1710\">16 March 2026 at 12:00 (Brussels time).<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1712\" data-end=\"1872\">The European Commission will also organise an information webinar, which will take place on <strong data-start=\"1804\" data-end=\"1823\">20 January 2026<\/strong>.
