From\u00a029 to 31 October 2025<\/strong>, Slovakia hosted a\u00a0Georgian delegation<\/strong>\u00a0on a study visit implemented through the\u00a0Sharing Slovak Expertise (SSE)\u00a0instrument. As part of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) of the Slovak Republic, this instrument significantly contributes to achieving the objectives of Slovakia\u2019s\u00a0Medium-Term Strategy for Development Cooperation 2025\u20132030<\/strong>\u00a0by sharing Slovak expertise and fostering professional dialogue.<\/p>

The visit took place within the SSE project\u00a0\u201cSharing Slovakia\u2019s Experience with Community Forestry\u201d<\/strong>, which aims to present Slovak approaches to\u00a0sustainable forest management<\/strong>, facilitate the exchange of experience, and create space for future cooperation.<\/p><\/p>\n <\/div>\n\n \t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Programme and Key Topics<\/strong><\/h3>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    Over the course of three days, the delegation participated in\u00a0six expert meetings<\/strong>\u00a0with representatives of key Slovak institutions, including:<\/p>

    • Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 discussions on legislative frameworks, forest categorisation, fragmentation of private forests, and the implementation of the new\u00a0EU Forest Strategy for 2030<\/strong>.

    • Bratislava Municipal Forests<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 presentation of the urban forest management model, visitor regulation, and a field visit to\u00a0Kamz\u00edk, \u017delezn\u00e1 studni\u010dka and Partiz\u00e1nska l\u00faka<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>

          Results and Future Cooperation

          <\/strong><\/h3>

          The discussions created space for the exchange of know-how and the identification of potential areas of cooperation between Slovak and Georgian partners. The delegation positively evaluated both the professional and organisational aspects of the programme and expressed interest in continuing the cooperation through a\u00a0reciprocal study visit of Slovak experts to Georgia<\/strong>.<\/p>

          Proposed areas of cooperation include:<\/p>

          • A\u00a0Memorandum of Cooperation<\/strong>\u00a0between the Technical University in Zvolen and the Georgian Technical University<\/li>
          • Study opportunities for Georgian students at the\u00a0Faculty of Forestry<\/strong><\/li>
          • Joint projects focused on\u00a0urban forest management<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>

            The study visit confirmed that Slovakia and Georgia share a common interest in\u00a0modern and sustainable approaches to forest governance<\/strong>. The contacts established and expert discussions held form a solid foundation for long-term cooperation that may contribute to the development of\u00a0community forestry in both countries<\/strong>.
